In which I am scared by a movie

Today I watched The Messengers and was very frightened. It's one of those great horror movies where everything is about tension and anticipating the really terrifying thing so every single moment is scary not just jump moments. And it hits a thing I have about being isolated really really well. I think being alone is one of the scariest possible things so it works well on that front.
It also did something in a ghost movie before where the ghosts weren't the bad guys. They were hanging out there in the house and then kept trying to warn the family away because the person who had killed them was back. I think it was a really excellent twist (especially because the movie seems to initially be going for an evil house vibe) and makes the movie that much scarier. I think it's an amazing coincidence that John goes crazy and decides to reenact his crime at the same moment the daughter figures it out but I didn't think it at the time so it works.
So I can add The Messengers to my surprisingly good horror movies list. Also on the list is The Hitcher remake (again road movies hit the isolation fear really well.)
Also I saw the new Fantastic Four movie and quite liked it. There should be more of those.
