I was thinking today that many of the people who are right now protesting are the kids of people who protested in the 1970s. Maybe it took thirty years but it seems as if the message that people have received from that is that you can change the world through protests. It seems that the children of Iran have learned this lesson almost too well for those in charge. These kids grew up hearing about what happened then and now are taking action. This is an astounding moment.
Reading Guests of the Ayatollah is the most I have ever learned about Iran and the hostage crisis. It was an extremely good book and one of the most fascinating reads I've had in a long time. I can't recommend it enough to people who want to gain a few insights into Iranian American relations and history. It is super long though.
