The best thing I have read all day is this letter from a former slave to his former master. I love all of it, because it is so honest and amazing. There's all these passages that are so badass but in this subtle way that makes them even more badass. I'm really fond of this passage: "have a comfortable home for Mandy (the folks here call her Mrs. Anderson)." It's so matter of fact and simple but so powerful. It's filled with quotes like that. You should go off and read it right now.
