Tomorrow is quite possibly the most important election most of us in the US will ever live through. Not only does the future of judicial appointments rest on it, the war in Iraq, the larger war on terror, the United States' position as a global superpower and/or respected member of the world community all rest on it as well.

This election is not about just the United States it is about the world. Amy Goodman said that once she had a woman from Ghana on her show and when her segment was over they were talking about the upcoming (2000) election. The woman wanted to stay on because as she said, "I think everyone in the world should be able to vote for President of the United States." It strikes me how everything that's happened has made me think the same thing. Our president does not just decide our fate, he (and someday she) determines everybody's policies.

It is vitally important that the results of this election are legitimate. This election can not get contested. It's vital that John Kerry wins the popular vote and the electoral college vote. This does not just affect his presidency but possibly every presidency from now on. I'm not trying to be dramatic but if this election is not viewed as legitimate we might never get back to a place where people feel our government can be trusted. I mean we have international observers watching our elections! This is the first time it's ever been needed in the US and if there is evidence of fraud, we will never get back our esteem in the world community. Hell, I don't know if I'll be able to respect this country.

Please I urge everybody to vote tomorrow. I'd love it if everybody would vote for John Kerry but if that's just impossible for you, still vote. It really matters.
