Nov. 4th, 2004 01:48 pmI am so sick of hearing that suddently the United States is in Weimar Germany. No we aren't.
jennyo is much more correct when she's saying it's Jim Crow. And yeah we probably will lose some before we win. But you know what, one of our teachers hear said "Don't give up the fight on Gay Marriage. Don't even get discourages. I was working for Civil Rights when 4% of the population agreed with them. 50% already agree with you. Don't tell me it's hopeless." I just love Komozi, he really is brilliant.
Also Weimar was flawed not because of people but because of the constitution. Some scholars think Weimar's constitution was great but a lot more say that it was good except flawed in such a way it could not function. I think the fact that the US constitution is going strong since 1780/1790 something should prove we're doing okay.
