I have a tribble
Nov. 17th, 2004 05:05 pmI really do. My parents brought it back from Las Vegas with them and I love it. I have been running around demonstrating it to anyone who will let me. It's so cute. It needs a name. Right now I'm calling it tribble but it needs a proper name. I'm thinking of something ridiculous like Fifi or Mitzi Montgomery III. Or maybe Spike but that has unpleasant connotations for me now (Stabs a spork in the vague direction of 7th season Buffy.) But I have always wanted something female with the name Spike. My tribble is a girl, I don't care if they don't really have genders.
In non-tribble related news I am going to write fanfic as an essay. The essay is allowed to be somewhat creative and mine is going to be the creative option. For which I am writing fanfiction. But my teacher will not know this. Hopefully she'll have no familiarity with the source material (and even though I think I'll leave names out) and won't figure out what I wrote. But I'm really excited by the possibility of fanfic-ing for credit. It's not my Secret Santa assignment but I'll get that done too (hopefully.)
Also next semester I may get to watch gay movies for credit! My life would be complete if I basically got to have two film classes. And one was nothing but gay movies? And they would be gay genre movies. Romantic comedy, Musical (my research paper is all about this already), Horror and Suspense. I can only assume we'd be discussing subtext and I could bring up all those thinly veiled (insert director's name here) movies. And maybe I could do something about subtext and fandom for conference. Or maybe I could talk about gay science fiction. I really really want to be in that class.
I haven't updated for weeks (and then I was really updatey) and I return with an inane post about my tribble, Which was the entire reason for this post. I love my tribble. And I need a christmas icon.
